Second Edition of ECOFLEET Meeting Point

The LIVE Platform and the Spanish Association of Automobile Fleet Managers (AEGFA) have brought to the professionals of the sector the most efficient solutions in terms of corporate mobility. For the second consecutive year, the event has taken place at the Barcelona-Catalonia Circuit.

An event addressed to fleet managers

The event is especially addressed at managers of mobile parks of public and private companies and in its edition 2016 has gathered more than 250 professionals in the Circuit de Barcelona – Catalunya. The Event combines lectures and conferences related to sustainable mobility with a vehicle testing space.

The event aims to increase the number of sustainable models in corporate fleets through environmental awareness and demonstration of the economic benefits it represents in most cases. In fact, Catalonia already has 31 companies that have opted for an efficient mobile fleet of its own.

Lectures

Ángel López has presented the Action Plan for the Promotion of the Electric Vehicle in Private Fleets of the LIVE Platform.

Lluís Morer of the Catalan Institute of Energy (ICAEN) explained to the audience the PIRVEC Plan, the strategic plan for the deployment of charging infrastructure for the electric vehicle in Catalonia.

Marc Fíguls, of the Royal Automobile Club of Catalonia (RACC), has presented the project I-CVUE, Incentives for cleaner vehicles in urban Europe, in which the RACC collaborates with several European entities.

The day has also featured the demonstration of Optima Fleet, Fleet Management Software designed by AEGFA and an interesting conference on the convergence between the autonomous vehicle and the electric vehicle.

Test Drive

Audi, BMW, KIA, Lexus, Nissan, Renault, Seat and Volkswagen have offered participants to test more than 40 vehicles. A wide range of alternative propulsion technologies have been driven on the Barcelona-Catalonia Circuit: from hybrid and plug-in models, to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG). In this way, attendees at ECOFLEET Meeting Point have had first hand knowledge of those models that best fit their corporate mobile parks.

We tested the Audi Q7

On this occasion we decided to test the Audi Q7 e-tron, a luxurious plug-in hybrid. The sensations have been very good, both in 100% electric mode and in hybrid mode. The equipment, excellent. According to the price, of course.

Summary

ECOFLEET Meeting Point has become an essential meeting for all professionals in the fleet management sector who are increasingly becoming aware of the importance and advantages of having sustainable and efficient vehicles, not only because of their lower environmental impact, but also by the reduction of operational costs.

Testing the various models on the market is a unique opportunity for fleet managers and for manufacturers who can share the benefits of their models.
